Job Description

The progressive Kimberly Area School District has a rewarding opportunity for a Maintenance & Facilities Project Manager. This supervisory role is responsible for ensuring District buildings, equipment, and grounds are operational, safe, and well-maintained. The selected candidate will lead the maintenance department and assist the Director of Facilities with long-range planning and capital improvement project management. The right candidate will possess the following skills and characteristics: Project management experience, specifically with building modernizations and construction contracts. Technical proficiency in general maintenance (plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems). Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills to act as a point of contact for building principals and department heads. Ability to develop budget models, manage expenditures, and oversee contractor work and bid specifications. Commitment to safety and compliance (OSHA, AHERA, and local laws). A self-starter who can resolve facility issues and make appropriate decisions under minimal direction.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer approved budgets for maintenance supplies and contractor work; develop quote and bid specifications for major expenditures including equipment, vehicles, and major building/grounds repairs and renovations. Coordinate and prioritize preventative maintenance schedules including plumbing, electrical and carpentry across the district. Manage, hire, evaluate staff work performance and train maintenance personnel and summer help. Operate and maintain District equipment such as tractors, forklifts, and snow removal vehicles. Support energy efficiency strategies and monitor utility consumption.
