Maintenance Handyman

Job Summary:

Irons Mill Farmstead is seeking a dedicated and engaged Maintenance Handyman. This role is responsible for maintaining the appearance, safety, and functionality of all IMF buildings, grounds, machinery, equipment and attractions. This position performs routine maintenance, repairs, landscaping, and seasonal outdoor work to ensure the IMF property remains clean, safe, and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform general building maintenance and minor repairs including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting tasks. Operate and maintain lawn care equipment, tractor, and tools safely. Inspect buildings, food equipment, and grounds to identify maintenance or safety issues. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance shops, storage areas, and equipment. Assist with property improvement projects, installations, and renovations. Keep accurate records of completed maintenance tasks and inventory supplies. Manage seasonal Clean Team to assist with grounds care during fall season open hours.

Qualifications:

Previous maintenance experience strongly preferred. Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repair work preferred. Ability to operate lawn equipment, maintenance machinery, and power tools safely. High standards and visual awareness of physical environment conditions. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and customer service skills. Supervise task lists and utilize online tools such as project management applications, digital calendar, and email. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

Work Environment:

Work is performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Requires lifting, bending, walking, climbing, and prolonged standing. Requires evening and weekend work during the farm open season.

$70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
