Job Description
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations within the facility, including production equipment, machinery, building systems, and facility grounds. This role ensures safe, efficient, and reliable operation of equipment and infrastructure while minimizing downtime and supporting production goals. The Maintenance Manager leads maintenance personnel, coordinates preventative maintenance programs, manages repair projects, and ensures compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Facility & Equipment Maintenance Oversee maintenance and repair of all manufacturing equipment used in the facility including but not limited to: Welders and welding systems Hydraulic and pneumatic systems Fabrication and cutting equipment Painting systems Electrical systems and controls Compressors Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs. Troubleshoot equipment failures and coordinate timely repairs to minimize production downtime. Maintain maintenance records, repair logs, and equipment histories. Coordinate installation and commissioning of new machinery and production equipment. Building & Grounds Maintenance Manage maintenance and repair of facility buildings and surrounding grounds. Oversee HVAC, plumbing, lighting, roofing, electrical distribution, and fire protection systems. Ensure parking lots, fencing, landscaping, snow removal, drainage, and exterior areas are properly maintained. Coordinate vendor services and contractors for specialized repairs and facility projects. Leadership & Team Management Supervise and schedule maintenance technicians and custodial/facility personnel. Provide training, coaching, and performance management for maintenance staff. Establish maintenance priorities based on production schedules and operational needs. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards. Conduct regular safety inspections and corrective actions. Manage lockout/tagout procedures and machine safety programs. Maintain compliance documentation for equipment inspections and facility systems. Inventory & Budget Management Manage maintenance inventory, spare parts, and maintenance supplies. Coordinate purchasing of parts, tools, and equipment. Monitor maintenance costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Continuous Improvement Identify and implement process improvements to enhance equipment reliability and facility efficiency. Participate in production planning and operational improvement initiatives. Analyze downtime trends and implement corrective actions. High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or related certification preferred. 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with industrial machinery, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding equipment. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Working knowledge of OSHA and industrial safety standards. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
