This role is open due to internal advancement, with the current Maintenance Manager preparing to step into a leadership role at a new plant in 2027. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for driving equipment reliability and operational performance by leading a high-performing maintenance organization. This role oversees multi-craft technicians, planners, and support staff to execute best-in-class maintenance strategies that maximize uptime, optimize costs, and sustain safe, compliant operations. This is a first-shift leadership role with shared accountability for 24/7 maintenance coverage. A second-shift Maintenance Manager reports directly to this position, and both leaders partner closely to ensure consistent execution across shifts without placing sole on-call responsibility on one individual. The Maintenance Manager reports to the Plant Engineering Manager and collaborates closely with the Utilities, Wastewater, and Reliability Engineering teams to ensure the integrity and performance of all plant assets. This role plays a critical part in upholding Daisy Brand's standards for food safety, product quality, and workplace safety. Daisy Brand is deeply committed to employee development. This role is also supported by a dedicated Training Coordinator and robust programs, including FAME and advanced PLC (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley) training, to build a strong technician pipeline and support career progression. Responsibilities Lead and develop a plant maintenance team, including planners, parts room coordinators, and multi-craft technicians, to ensure effective execution of maintenance activities. Establish and drive maintenance strategies for equipment, process systems, and facilities to maximize uptime and optimize cost performance. Partner with plant leadership and operations to identify, prioritize, and execute reliability and continuous improvement initiatives. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and failure mode investigations to resolve equipment and system reliability issues and prevent recurrence. Design, implement, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance (PM/PdM) programs to reduce unplanned downtime. Define, track, and analyze equipment reliability metrics to measure performance and sustain improvements. Provide technical leadership and hands-on support to rapidly troubleshoot and resolve downtime events. Collaborate with Maintenance and Engineering leadership to standardize maintenance processes, procedures, and best practices. Partner with Training to develop and implement technician training programs, career progression paths, and skill development initiatives. Oversee CMMS utilization to ensure accurate planning, scheduling, and documentation of maintenance activities and asset history. Manage maintenance and MRO budgets, including inventory strategy, spare parts optimization, and cost control. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and actively promote a strong safety culture within the maintenance organization. Define and manage spare parts and materials requirements to support operational reliability. Respond to critical equipment failures and emergency situations, including off-hours support as needed. Take on additional responsibilities as required to support business objectives. Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Reliability Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and 10+ years of maintenance leadership experience in an automated manufacturing environment. 5+ years of experience with industrial controls, including programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell preferred). Skills and Competencies Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing maintenance teams in a fast-paced industrial environment. Strong expertise in root cause analysis, reliability engineering principles, and continuous improvement methodologies. Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership. Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data analysis, reporting, and visualization. Demonstrated ability to manage teams of up to 30 employees, including both hourly and salaried staff.
