Jobs › Avon, MA › Maintenance Mechanic Marshall Paper Tube Maintenance Mechanic Avon, MA Apply Job overview We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our current Maintenance Mechanical Team and other experienced team members as we grow and expand our operational capabilities. You will focus on maintaining production uptime and efficiency by keeping our machinery and equipment well maintained at all times. We have a very experienced team that you will join and learn from as you take on more responsibility. A great maintenance mechanic is a combination of solid planning of preventive maintenance practices combined with a proven ability to trouble-shoot issues to find effective resolutions
- sometimes in a very short turnaround to keep operations running. Some of what we do is unique and through working with our team, you will have the opportunity to learn new skills. Over time, you are expected to take on more responsibilities in your own areas of expertise
- so you should have willingness to learn and improve. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers. Your goal will be to ensure that production operations are kept running safely, smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities
- Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on production equipment, facilities machinery, etc.; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer\'s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions and breakdowns.
- In some cases, you may need to prepare maintenance schedules for key equipment
- Troubleshoot problems by observing equipment in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments to help assess causes of problems.
- Repair/replace defective parts by dismantling equipment; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
- Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Control downtime by informing production workers of routine scheduled maintenance; monitoring compliance; planning for parts maintenance with kitting ahead of scheduled maintenance.
- In some case, fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualification & Requirements:
- Experience in at least some of the following: o Production Equipment Maintenance o Welding o Electrical
- A can-do attitude and strong willingness to learn new skills and work on unfamiliar equipment (at first)
- Flexibility to take on tasks that need to get done to meet productivity goals
- Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
- Curiosity and interest in learning new skills
- Attention to detail
- Teamwork and communication skills
- Physical stamina and strength
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus
- Basic computer skills

- Prior experience as in mechanical maintenance is expected as a minimum.
