Maintenance Mechanic Technician
DIRECT HIRE
We are a full-service food packaging film supplier in Elberfeld, IN . with printing and warehousing capabilities. We offer high-quality flexible food packaging, custom printing, and equipment service, sales, and maintenance. Job Summary The Engineering Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing the installation, performance, troubleshooting, and maintenance of VFFS and HFFS production machinery. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that involves frequent travel to customer sites to service, repair, and upgrade advanced packaging equipment. This position combines mechanical and electrical expertise with strong customer collaboration, allowing you to make a direct impact by keeping operations running at peak performance. Key Responsibilities Travel to customer locations to provide technical support and on-site service Perform preventive maintenance inspections and scheduled service on VFFS and HFFS machinery Thoroughly clean machines and machine components, including disassembly and reinstallation as required Oil and lubricate moving parts to ensure optimal performance Install replacement and upgraded components Diagnosing and identifying causes of unexpected machine breakdowns Repair equipment efficiently to minimize downtime Prepare and organize detailed service reports documenting work performed Maintain shop areas, tools, parts, and supplies by cleaning, organizing, inventorying, and restocking as needed Collaborate with customers during service visits to recommend repairs, improvements, or upgrades Implement machine modifications and conduct test runs Confer with product management regarding test results and make additional adjustments as required Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications & Requirements This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, experience with packaging equipment, and working knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent problem-solving skills Experience working with packaging equipment such as Multivac, Scandivac, Reiser, Ulma, or similar systems preferred Some vocational or community college coursework in a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience with VFFS and HFFS (required) Low-voltage electrical knowledge Ability to use a multimeter and ammeter Ability to work independently and collaboratively Strong written and verbal communication skills Highly organized with attention to detail Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to bend, stretch, push, pull, and maneuver to reach, clean, and service machinery Visual acuity to inspect machinery and components Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Availability for frequent travel Expected travel up to 70%, including local travel Typically, home most weekends Benefits We are committed to supporting our employees' health, financial security, and work-life balance through a comprehensive benefits package that includes: Day shift schedule Participation in a 100% employee-owned ESOP Medical, dental, vision, and voluntary life insurance plans Company-paid life insurance, short-term disability, and long-term disability Company-provided cell phone Paid time off and company-paid holidays 401(k) plan with company matching Strong emphasis on work-life balance Dianna Adams Dianna.adams@trscraftservices.com 832.206.8434Pay:
