Purpose/General Job Description:

To fill the job functions of Maintenance/Mechanical Operator according to the daily demands of the business including keeping all sewing machines operating. The company will provide all tools necessary to do the job. Job Responsibilities Support the production staff in whatever way necessary. Building maintenance (lights, fans, heaters, plumbing and other areas requiring maintenance). Assist in designing, building and rebuilding production machines. Clean lint collector weekly. Responsible for reporting any unsafe equipment to management. Responsible for reporting any safety hazards to management. Responsible for assigned tools with respect to care or abuse. Responsible for notifying management if no work is available for the purpose of obtaining a temporary assignment. Responsible for notifying management if a machine will be out of operation for more than four hours. Perform all tasks as directed by Management Keep work area and all storage areas in a neat and orderly manner. Keep aisle ways clear of all obstacles. Clean up all trash generated throughout all functions. Requirements for

Eligibility:

Associate must be able to lift heavy objects. Associate must work with other associates in a professional manner and have skills in the following areas: basic electricity, plumbing, welding, carpentry and masonry. An associate must perform these skills efficiently within the established training period of 8 weeks. Associate must take basic test of understanding of mechanical and electrical knowledge and score 80% accuracy or higher to qualify for training.

Additional Safety Requirements:

Must be able to pass test on electrical safe work practice and be in compliance with Energy Control Program, including: Use all required personal protective equipment and follow lock-out and tag-out procedures. Be familiar with the potential mechanical and electrical hazards of all machinery. Follow all plant wide general safety rules.
