Job Description

River Point Farms is seeking a highly capable Maintenance Shift Manager to join our Plant Maintenance Team! The Maintenance Shift Manager supervises maintenance employees to ensure production, departmental, and safety goals are met in a continuous food manufacturing environment. This role guides and directs the workforce to meet customer expectations for product quality, food safety, and on‑time delivery while achieving company performance goals and maintaining a safe work environment.
Responsibilities:
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with GMPs, food safety programs, and applicable
USDA/FDA
regulatory requirements, and proactively identify, mitigate, and escalate risks to safety, quality, or compliance. Lead and enforce maintenance safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), contractor safety oversight, audits, incident investigations, and corrective action follow‑through. Supervise and coordinate maintenance staff across one or more shifts, including workforce planning, scheduling, work assignment, and daily execution, while serving as a liaison with operations and cross‑functional teams. Provide hands‑on leadership by assigning and prioritizing work based on production impact, safety, food safety, equipment criticality, and production forecasts, and supporting troubleshooting as needed. Exercise supervisory authority, including performance reviews, coaching, training, corrective action, and succession planning. Utilize the CMMS to manage work orders, preventive and predictive maintenance, inventory tracking, and maintenance documentation, and ensure team adherence to system standards. Monitor and report equipment performance and reliability metrics, including OEE, MTBF, and MTTR, and lead downtime analysis and root cause investigations using Lean and 5S principles. Oversee general facilities and grounds maintenance and coordinate quotes for parts and external services to support safe, reliable operations. Ensure production line uptime meets or exceeds established performance expectations and communicate daily priorities, issues, and escalations. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field or an equivalent combination of High School diploma/GED, technical certifications, and relevant maintenance experience in food manufacturing or a similarly regulated environment. Minimum of 3 years of maintenance leadership experience in food processing or another regulated manufacturing environment. Agriculture or agricultural processing background highly desirable. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred. Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem‑solving skills. Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast‑paced, continuous‑operation manufacturing environment. Ability to perform all essential duties on first shift with extended hours, which may include afterhours, weekends and/or holidays, to meet business needs.
