Job Description

Utz Quality Foods is currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at our Hanover, PA facility. The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the mechanical/electrical maintenance of the manufacturing plant and equipment, as well as the planning and overseen of the work of the maintenance department staff to ensure safe and efficient operations of the facility. Candidates must have knowledge and hands on application of the pneumatics, hydraulics, construction design, welding, plumbing, heating, air conditioning and waste-water treatment acquired through a combination of 5 to 10 years' experience, an associate's or bachelor's degree in engineering, and self directed independent study, as well as skills in mechanics, equipment design and drafting will be required. Candidates must posses sound math and writing skills, as well as interpersonal and supervisory skills necessary to lead others and coordinate projects and repairs with contractors. Key Responsibilities Responsible for manufacturing productivity and product quality via the maintenance department. Establishes and maintains aggressive programs to minimize the amount of preventable and predictable mechanical downtime. Manages waste water treatment system. Establishes and maintains a controlled inventory of tools, parts and supplies needed for the maintenance team to effectively complete their jobs. Directs the maintenance department by establishing work shifts and priorities. Directs maintenance, inspection and repair of structures, equipment and systems (roof, lift trucks, gas lines, boilers, elevators, sprinklers, etc.). Maintains service contracts. Supports corporate engineering as required to implement capital projects against established budgets and timelines. Supervises the installation of equipment, maintenance department purchases and contracted services. Works to meet local, state and federal water treatment regulations. Assists maintenance personnel by troubleshooting equipment failures and breakdowns. Responsible for compliance with OSHA standards on those items which apply to maintenance and waste treatment. Works with the Human Resources Department and the Plant Manager to consistently enforce Utz Quality Foods performance and attendance policies. Helps management team implement and establish all GPM, OSHA, EPA and Food Safety programs. Contacts, negotiates and contracts with outside contractors for maintenance repairs and projects. Responsible to follow all safety rules and work safely at all times, and for quality and food safety tasks for their position. Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising a maintenance team. Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience preferred. Experience with managing a storeroom is a plus. Experience working in a food or consumer products manufacturing environment. Demonstrated training skills and experience. Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills. Highly organized; able to manage multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines. Comfortable interacting with all levels of employees. Creative/analytical problem-solving skills Hands-on leadership style. Dedication to achievement of results. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel. Excellent project management and prioritization skills. Ability to react to situations with strong sense of urgency.
