Job Description
Summary The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for performing a variety of routine maintenance tasks in all County facilities, to ensure that facilities are neat, clean, safe, well maintained and presentable to the public. The employee in this position is classified as an essential employee and may be required to work when the County offices are officially closed due to inclement weather, natural disaster, other emergency situations, etc. Weekend/Holiday work as required. Criminal background check is required.
Essential Duties Essential Duties, Tasks and Accountabilities:
(Depending on the area assigned, may include the following:) Assist with general repairs and maintenance, as needed (e.g., electrical, plumbing, waterline repairs, carpentry, construction, painting, etc.). Assist with special event set-up and removal. Grounds maintenance (mowing; weeding; trash pickup; mulching; planting trees and flowers; road, trail and culvert maintenance). Maintain small equipment (minor repairs). Pesticide application (with direction from certified applicator). Resource management (e.g., assist with a variety of natural resource management activities). Snow removal using hand tools and gas-powered equipment. Perform other duties, tasks and special projects, as required. Qualifications/Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Experience Qualifications /Requirements:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Ability to communicate in a clear and appropriate manner. Ability to participate effectively as a team player. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Basic working knowledge of small equipment, tools and materials.. Manual dexterity. Successful certification in CPR and first aid training within one year of hire. Ability to work extended hours on weekends and during special events, as directed. A valid driver's license is required. Must provide personal hand tools.Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with little supervision. Ability to multi-task. Basic knowledge of county and department policies and procedures. Basic time management skills. Effective interpersonal skills. Basic knowledge of carpentry, electrical and plumbing. Additional Information Relevant background checks, clearances, physicals, drug tests, and any other assessments or evaluations will be conducted after an offer of employment is given per County policy.Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have: Basic knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.Similar remote jobs
