Job Title:
1st Shift Maintenance Electrician Job Description This role focuses on electrical troubleshooting and repair of a wide range of industrial equipment in a large, modern manufacturing facility. The Maintenance Electrician works primarily with high and low voltage systems, including line voltages, and supports both production and facilities equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation on 1st shift. Responsibilities Perform advanced electrical troubleshooting and repairs on powder coating equipment, painting equipment, stamping equipment, roll forming equipment, CNC Trumpf lasers, 50-700 ton presses, conveyors, ovens, saws, slotters, and both manual and Fanuc robotic welders. Diagnose and repair electrical issues up to 480V 3-phase, ensuring safe and compliant work practices at all times. Work with high line/voltage systems, assessing electrical issues on incoming power lines and equipment, including line voltages ranging from 12.5k to 69k. Inspect poles and related high-voltage infrastructure to identify issues such as blown fuses and coordinate with external utility partners for resolution. Read and interpret blueprints, hydraulic schematics, pneumatic schematics, and electrical schematics to identify faults and plan repairs. Troubleshoot and support PLC systems, focusing primarily on relay logic and basic PLC diagnostics, while coordinating major PLC work with the Engineering team. Perform mechanical troubleshooting and repairs on presses and stamping equipment to support continuous production operations. Wire and install new machinery and equipment based on schematics and technical documentation, ensuring proper integration into existing systems. Apply heavy industrial electrical knowledge to maintain and troubleshoot transformers and distribution equipment, including systems stepping down from 69k to 12.5k and then to 240/480V 3-phase. Use appropriate tools and testing equipment to safely diagnose and correct electrical and mechanical issues. Follow all safety procedures and best practices, including lockout/tagout and electrical safety standards, to minimize risk to personnel and equipment. Collaborate with other maintenance team members, production staff, and engineering to prioritize work orders and minimize equipment downtime. Document work performed, including repairs, parts used, and findings, to support ongoing maintenance planning and reliability improvements. Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues and recommending long-term solutions or upgrades. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Middlebury, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60320.00- $74880.00/yr.
