Job Title:
Maintenance Technician Job Description This role supports an automotive manufacturing facility in Scottsboro by performing preventative and corrective maintenance on a variety of production equipment across 2nd and 3rd shifts. You will focus on electrical troubleshooting, mechanical repairs, and support for vision systems, HMIs, and CNC tube bending machines to keep production running safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on vision systems, electrical systems, HMIs, power benders, and tube bending CNC machines. Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime and support continuous production. Troubleshoot equipment using electrical schematics, blueprints, and PLC control systems, including Omron-based equipment. Work with pneumatics cylinders and related components to ensure proper operation of automated equipment. Use a laptop to connect to equipment and change IP addresses as needed for troubleshooting and communication. Support vision systems and HMIs by identifying faults, making adjustments, and coordinating repairs as necessary. Perform electrical troubleshooting on production machinery, including identifying faults in wiring, components, and control systems. Apply knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems to maintain and repair manufacturing equipment. Collaborate with team members and leadership to prioritize maintenance tasks and support production goals. Participate in an on-site interview and a technical test designed to assess current maintenance and troubleshooting knowledge. Essential Skills Proven experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including working with schematics and PLC control systems. Hands-on experience with pneumatics, including pneumatics cylinders and related components. Experience working with vision systems and HMIs in a production setting. Ability to troubleshoot and support tube bending CNC machines and power benders. Capability to connect a laptop to equipment and change IP addresses for troubleshooting and configuration. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform repairs and maintenance on complex machinery. Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting, including Omron PLCs. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and schematics. Willingness and ability to work 2nd shift (3:00 pm - 11:00 pm) or 3rd shift (11:00 pm - 7:00 am). Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with automation systems is a strong plus. Knowledge of hydraulics and related systems in a manufacturing environment. Comfort with a structured technical assessment (58-question test) used to identify strengths and development areas. Strong troubleshooting mindset and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-focused environment. Good communication skills to collaborate with maintenance and production teams. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in an automotive manufacturing facility in Scottsboro, operating on 2nd shift (3:00 pm - 11:00 pm) and 3rd shift (11:00 pm - 7:00 am). The environment is production-focused, with significant overtime currently available to support increased output and catch up on demand. You work hands-on with industrial equipment including vision systems, HMIs, power benders, tube bending CNC machines, pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLC-controlled systems such as Omron. The role requires being on the shop floor around active machinery, where safety procedures and appropriate industrial attire are expected. Work is performed on-site, with direct interaction with production and maintenance teams, and access to laptops and diagnostic tools for equipment troubleshooting.
