Job Description
Overall responsibilities and duties: The role of a Plant Maintenance Technician Level 2 is to independently diagnose and resolve complex multi-system equipment failures. This position performs system-level troubleshooting across electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, and robotic systems, including parameter adjustments and logic interpretation. In addition, this position participates in the Total and Preventive Maintenance (TPM) for all equipment and facilities. The main missions of the role are: o Perform advanced root-cause diagnostics across multiple systems o Interpret and modify PLC timers, counters, and parameters o Diagnose power vs. control-side electrical failures o Read and interpret full electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics o Troubleshoot robot programs, frames, and servo alarms o Reduce repeat downtime events o Mentor Level I technicians o Lead complex repair activities o Understand Electrical Competencies, such as diagnose 3-phase systems, differentiate control vs. power circuits, uses amp clamp and megger, identify intermittent faults, and read complete schematics o Understand Pneumatic Competencies, such as diagnoses pressure and flow issues, reads pneumatic logic diagrams, identifies timing-related failures o Understand Hydraulics Competencies, such as diagnoses pressures vs flow problems, adjust relief valves, and identifies cavitation o Understand PLC/Controls Competencies, such as reading ladder logic fluently, diagnose logic faults, modifies timers and counters, understands analog scaling and safely forces I/O. o Understand Robotic Competencies, such as diagnoses servo faults, understands tooling and user frames, adjusts program pathing, and interprets error logs o Install, repair, and maintain all equipment and facilities o Perform preventive maintenance in a deep equipment level o Analyze breakdowns: Spare parts needs, root cause, action to avoid re-occurrence, and preventive checklist modification o Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment o Make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality o Try out equipment after repairs, changeovers, or extended downtime o Record operational data such as pressure readings, length of stroke, feeds and speeds for use in set-up, and preventive maintenance records o Review production schedule, and when equipment is not scheduled for production, perform scheduled maintenance o Propose and implement continuous productivity and quality improvement actions for all facilities and process efficiency o Give advice on technical specifications of new equipment and alterations on existing equipment and facilities o Ensure manufacturing, Health, Safety and Environment, and maintainability requirements are met o Set up requisition for supplies, equipment, and facilities o Participate in the management of the inventory of spare parts and consumables to eliminate downtime o Keep up to date documentation related to maintenance o Train operators on the safe operation of production equipment o Perform minor repairs to building fixtures o Perform minor plumbing repairs, clean electrical fixtures, replace bulbs, and paint o Maintain clean and sate working environment in line with company policy o Adhere to all work rules and procedures o Clean, paint equipment, seal floors, clean floors, and paint lines around equipment when line is down or when assigned o Actively participate in work teams o Submit at least one improvement idea per month o Perform other duties as requested Qualifications The ideal candidate will have/be: Minimum education level: Technical diploma and/or journeyman card
Experience:
o At least 3 years of maintenance or engineering experience within a fast paced manufacturing environment Skills and competencies: o Electrical wiring and mechanical skills o Knowledge of PLC equipment o Working Knowledge of Ladder logic and network protocols o Strong computer skills o Knowledge of Quality systems and Health, Safety and Environmental o Strong technical problem solving skills o Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills o Satisfactory company work record, including attendance o Successful completion of Faurecia's in-house training program o Ability to follow instruction verbal and written o Excellent math, language, and reading skills required o Ability to communicate with employees of all levels o Demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team and in a positive manner o Commitment to the highest ethical standards and willingness to adhere toFaurecia's Code of Ethics and Code of Management Physical Requirements:
o Lift and carry up to 50 pounds o exert 25 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and exert 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects o Ability to push, pull, reach, stand, walk, grip, twist, and bend o High mental and visual effort required o Ability and willingness to work overtime when required - up to 12 hours a day / 7 days a week Safety /Hazards:
o Steel toe shoes are required in production area at all times due to physical hazards from moving equipment, machine parts, and products oANSI Z87.1
standard safety glasses required in production area due to dust, oils, and debris o Ear protection required in production area due to high noise levels from machines o Exposure to flying objects such as weld slag and sparks o May be exposed to weld fumes and dust o May be exposed to moderate burns, cuts and bruises o Exposure to significant temperature changes in the facility - (heat in the summer / cold in the winter)Benefits:
