Maintenance Technician

Job Title:

Maintenance Technician Job Description As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining equipment and facilities to ensure smooth operations. You will perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on various systems including processing equipment, cooking and cooling systems, conveyors, packaging machinery, and plant utilities. Responsibilities Perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on dough and pasta processing equipment, cooking and cooling systems, conveyors, and packaging machinery. Diagnose and repair mechanical systems such as bearings, belts, chains, and gearboxes, as well as basic pneumatic systems and low-voltage electrical issues. Conduct timely repairs to minimize downtime and maintain production flow. Perform routine facility maintenance including basic plumbing repairs, building upkeep, and general repairs. Assist with equipment installations, basic line changeovers, and preventive maintenance programs. Perform light welding and fabrication (MIG/TIG) on stainless steel components. Utilize CMMS to document work orders, maintenance activity, and parts usage. Follow all safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE requirements, and hot work permits. Maintain compliance with GMP, HACCP, food safety standards, and SQF requirements. Collaborate with Production, QA, and Sanitation teams to ensure safe operations. Essential Skills 2+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment such as food, beverage, pharma, or packaging. Mechanical aptitude with experience in bearings, belts, chains, and drive systems. Working knowledge of basic pneumatics and low voltage electrical systems. Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics. Strong troubleshooting skills. Experience with stainless steel fabrication and welding. Why Work Here? The environment is extremely clean, with special ventilation systems to maintain air quality. The main production floor is kept at a comfortable 70 degrees, with some rooms cooler as required. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of South Elgin, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $72800.00/yr.
