Job Description

Job Description The Maintenance Technician maintains clean, safe, and fully operational facilities by performing repairs, improvements, and preventive maintenance on fixtures, equipment, and production assets. This on-site role supports primary production lines to ensure that safety, quality, reliability, cost, capability, and capacity requirements are consistently met or exceeded. Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance (PM) work orders and complete them accurately and on time. Inspect, maintain, and repair physical assets, equipment, and facility infrastructure to ensure reliable operation. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on production equipment and systems. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to evaluate maintenance needs and plan repair or installation projects. Record maintenance activities, parts usage, supplies, and components needed to support ongoing equipment reliability. Train on and maintain robotic programming and perform preventive maintenance on robots used on assembly lines. Assist with the installation of new equipment on production lines, including mechanical and electrical connections. Support set up and adjustment of robotic welding systems to ensure proper operation and weld quality. Apply knowledge of heat treatment procedures, machine shop operations, welding, paint processes, and tool and die practices to support maintenance tasks. Collaborate with production and maintenance team members to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance. Follow all safety procedures and use required protective equipment while performing maintenance activities. Essential Skills 3-5 years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of electrical relays and switches. Experience working with hydraulic systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams. Ability to perform preventive maintenance and complete PM work orders accurately and on schedule. Experience inspecting, maintaining, and repairing production equipment and facility infrastructure. Ability to document maintenance activities, parts usage, and required components. Capability to train on and maintain robotic programming and perform robotic preventive maintenance. Ability to assist with new equipment installations and robotic welding system setups. Knowledge of heat treatment procedures, machine shop operations and processes, welding, paint processes, and tool and die practices. Work Environment This role is based on-site in a factory environment that may involve exposure to dirt, grit, noise, and dust. Protective clothing and safety equipment are required while working in the facility. The work areas are typically lit with fluorescent or LED lighting. You must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock. The position operates on 2nd and 3rd shifts, supporting production lines and maintenance activities during non-daytime hours. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rock Island, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $34.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
