Job SummaryThe Maintenance Technician at Transtech Fabrication is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, safety, and compliance of all shop equipment and facilities. This role involves scheduling and performing preventative maintenance, coordinating with contractors for major repairs, and managing equipment documentation. The technician conducts routine inspections of machinery, tools, and safety systems, oversees building maintenance, and supports environmental compliance efforts. Additionally, they manage security systems and supervise third-party maintenance services when needed. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and experienced with PM software and OSHA requirements.

Tasks & ResponsibilitiesMaintains ALL shop equipment, large or small. Arrange and schedule contractors as needed for extensive repairs. Works with the Ops Mgr. to determine best solution based on extent and timeframe.

Develops and maintains scheduling for all equipment Preventative Maintenance. Responsible for all annual inspections required per OSHA. (Scheduling, reporting and follow ups)Create and maintain all equipment files.

Make recommendations to improve shop equipment and procedures for maintenance program.

Daily inspections of forklifts, trucks, and overhead cranes. Quarterly inspection program for electrical shop tools, drop cords and lights.

Monthly inspections as required (i.e.. Fire extinguishers)Routine building maintenance and repairsAssists in environmental collections for 3rd party analysis and reporting.

Manages the security fence/gate and codes.

Manages any 3rd party contractors required for maintenance and repairs that cannot otherwise be completed in-house.

CompetenciesExperience in maintaining, repairing and a working knowledge of welding equipmentExperience in maintaining, repairing and a working with electrical and hydraulic equipmentFamiliar with working from PM software.

Good communication skills This position will require the candidate to regularly work with Operations and Production management, along with Operations personnel to solve problems and make necessary repairsBasic Computer Skills (Microsoft Suite; outlook, word, excel)Knowledge and practice of safety standards such as Lock out/ Tag Out, OSHA requirements, etc.

This position requires a self-starter someone who is proactive in complying with Preventative Maintenance schedule, identifying issues and quick to respond to necessary repairs.
