Job Title:
Maintenance Technician Job Description This role focuses on maintaining and improving high-speed production and packaging equipment in a foodservice manufacturing facility. The Maintenance Technician performs primarily mechanical work with some electrical responsibilities, ensuring production lines, support systems, and utilities operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. Responsibilities Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production lines, conveyor systems, cappers, fillers, labelers, palletizing equipment, boilers, and other critical plant components. Inspect, maintain, and repair rollers, belts, bushings, bearings, gear boxes, and related mechanical components to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Diagnose and repair issues involving AC and DC motor drives, including troubleshooting and correcting electrical and mechanical faults. Work with 480-volt electrical systems safely and effectively while performing maintenance and troubleshooting tasks. Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and blueprints to identify problems and plan repairs or modifications. Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems to ensure consistent and reliable operation of production and packaging equipment. Troubleshoot and repair pumps used throughout the facility to support production and utility processes. Support the operation and maintenance of boilers, compressors, and other plant utilities as needed. Assist with troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment and support corrective actions under the direction of more senior personnel or established procedures. Monitor equipment performance, identify potential issues, and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency. Document maintenance activities accurately and follow established maintenance procedures and safety guidelines. Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to prioritize work, respond to breakdowns, and support continuous operations. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and adhere to all safety policies and practices. Essential Skills At least 5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or similar environment. Demonstrated experience working with 480-volt electrical systems. Hands-on experience with AC and DC motor drives, including the ability to troubleshoot and repair issues. Strong mechanical skills with experience working on rollers, belts, bushings, bearings, gear boxes, and similar components. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and blueprints. Experience working with hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and repair. Experience working with pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repair. Proven maintenance and troubleshooting skills in a production or packaging environment. High school diploma or GED. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment. Background in the food, flavor, beverage, and/or packaging industry. Knowledge of boilers and air compressors, including basic troubleshooting and maintenance. Experience troubleshooting and repairing pumps in an industrial setting. Any additional technical education, certifications, or formal training in maintenance, electrical, or mechanical fields is highly regarded. Exposure to bottling, filling, and packaging equipment is a plus. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a foodservice manufacturing facility that produces flavors, syrups, sauces, creams, and related products for major foodservice and ingredient customers. You will work with high-speed production lines, conveyor systems, cappers, fillers, labelers, palletizing equipment, boilers, compressors, pumps, and various packaging technologies. The role requires comfort working with both mechanical and electrical systems, including 480-volt power and AC/DC drives. The shift schedule rotates approximately every 30 days between Monday-Thursday and Friday-Monday, with hours from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., providing 12-hour night shifts. The facility follows standard industrial safety practices, and you will use tools and equipment typical for maintenance work. The dress code includes jeans or work pants without holes, a solid t-shirt and/or polo (preferably without buttons or snaps), safety glasses, and steel toe boots. Uniforms are provided after an initial period, supporting a professional and safety-focused work environment. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Walton, KY.
