Job Description

Crane Equipment and Service, Inc. is seeking an experienced individual with a technical background to fill our Maintenance Technician position. This individual is in charge of performing ongoing facility maintenance and completing repairs on equipment. Their duties include fixing machinery, plumbing, heating and wiring, inspecting buildings to confirm safety standards and scheduling major repairs with the building's inhabitants. Maintenance Technician duties and responsibilities A Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping a facility operating and repairing any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen. A Maintenance Technician will usually be required to perform a wide range of repair tasks around a facility. Some other tasks a Maintenance Technician may be called upon to do include:
  • Preventive Maintenance Support on all equipment current and in the future.
  • Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair
  • Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures
  • Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs
  • Maintaining the building HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly
  • Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof
  • Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
  • Painting the building when old paint has become faded or chipped The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general maintenance and orderliness of the property and oversight of the maintenance systems to ensure optimal operations and client/tenant satisfaction in accordance with department protocol.
Maintenance Technician Responsibilities Responsible for completion of work orders for tasks related to the physical maintenance and repairs of the assigned buildings utilizing work order related software programs Responsible for implementing routine physical improvements Respond to emergency situations in accordance with departmental protocol Assist Supervisor in establishing and maintaining all equipment, tools, supplies in stock, inventories and logs Implement, with Supervisor, a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan and maintain all related records and logs Assist with controlling expenses associated with the operation of the buildings. Communicate effectively to appropriate individual building status and changes Adhere to all safety standards, policies & procedures, codes of conduct and best practices Act in a professional and courteous manner at all times with co-workers, vendors, etc. Utilize materials, supplies, tools and other building property in a safe, productive manner Perform other duties and special projects as assigned Maintenance Technicians Requirements 2+ years of related work experience and technical training. High school graduate or GED required, technical school training in maintenance related courses are preferred. Ability to understand and interpret design documents, manufacturer s specifications and written operational procedures Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure teamwork and positive client/tenant/co-worker relations Be able to take direction and follow instructions Must be safety conscious Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to ensure accuracy and timely completion Basic aptitude for mathematics 24-hour availability for emergencies and as part of an on-call rotation. Capable of doing extensive walking, climbing of stairs and ladders, lifting/carrying a minimum of 50 pounds by applying proper body mechanics Willingness to work overtime on special projects as required. Must have a valid driver s license and reliable transportation Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new job-related software Have working knowledge of tools and their proper use

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
