Job Title:
Maintenance Technician Job Description This role focuses on maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment, including mills, lathes, high horse-power motors, electrical systems, and electric-driven filter systems in a climate-controlled machine shop. You will play a key role in performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring reliable operation of production equipment. This is a contract position with the opportunity to transition to full-time based on performance and department goals. Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including mills, lathes, high horse-power motors, and electric-driven filter systems to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to restore equipment to safe and efficient operation. Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to diagnose issues and guide repair and maintenance activities. Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to perform mechanical assembly, disassembly, adjustments, and component replacement. Inspect equipment regularly to identify wear, potential failures, and safety concerns, and take corrective action as needed. Support production by responding promptly to equipment issues and working to resolve problems with minimal disruption to operations. Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used to maintain accurate records and support continuous improvement. Collaborate with team members and other departments to coordinate maintenance tasks and support overall manufacturing goals. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working on machinery, including proper use of hoists and cranes for heavier objects. Maintain a clean and organized work area within the machine shop. Essential Skills Experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment. Basic knowledge of mills or lathes and their operation. Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, repair, and maintenance. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Experience with preventive maintenance practices on production equipment. Electrical troubleshooting skills, including work with control systems. Pneumatic troubleshooting skills and familiarity with pneumatic components. Understanding of hydraulic systems and their maintenance requirements. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities in a manufacturing setting. High School Diploma or GED. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing or machine shop environment. Comfort working with high horse-power motors and electric-driven filter systems. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks based on production needs. Strong attention to detail and commitment to equipment reliability and safety. Effective communication skills to interact with team members and other departments. Work Environment This position is based in a climate-controlled machine shop within a manufacturing facility. While performing the duties of this job, you will regularly stand, use your hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and communicate verbally. You will occasionally walk and frequently lift and move objects weighing 25 to 50 pounds, using a hoist or crane for heavier items. The role involves working around mills, lathes, high horse-power motors, and other industrial equipment, with a strong emphasis on safe work practices and proper use of tools and lifting equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of White Settlement, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
