Job Description

Role Purpose:
The primary role of Maintenance Technician is to perform and lead in troubleshooting efforts to minimize equipment and machine downtime in order to maximize production output. This position is responsible for keeping equipment and machinery, and facilities in good working order through diagnostic testing and electronic/control troubleshooting. This position recognizes complex machine malfunctions throughout the plant, especially involving PLCs, advanced motor controls, electrical component calibration, and CNC equipment. Workers must make any necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation of plant equipment in a timely manner. Maintenance Technician must be willing and able to teach and direct other technicians or mechanics on a variety of maintenance tasks. This requires the ability to understand and give detailed instructions, in addition to effective communication skills. This position leads in troubleshooting and repair efforts of both control-based and non-control-based machinery throughout the plant as needed.
Work Summary:
Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various types of equipment, especially those involving PLCs, CNC controls, and advanced motor controls (Trumpf Machinery, Hydraulic Presses, Shear-line, etc.) Assist Maintenance Mechanic with troubleshooting and repairs on non-CNC controlled equipment Perform and lead jobs that involve basic and advanced skills, including troubleshooting, in motors, PLC's, mechanical, high/low voltage electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and CNC equipment Direct less experienced technicians in controls troubleshooting and diagnostic testing Conduct routine preventative maintenance tasks in order to ensure good working condition and to prevent machine failure Document and keep records of machine failures for future troubleshooting efforts Read and interpret equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, blueprints and maintenance request log/CMMS to perform required assignments Detect, report, and address faulty operations, defective materials and any unusual situations. Test equipment to verify proper working order Suggest ideas to improve safety, quality, output, efficiency and cost Assist with buying and maintaining spare parts, supplies and tool inventory Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean work area
Qualifications and Attributes:
3+years of Maintenance experience/training or equivalent Competent in Microsoft Office Software (Excel, Word, Outlook) Ability and willingness to learn and teach Team oriented attitude with good leadership and communication skills Self-motivated and disciplined Willingness to perform duties with the appropriate level of urgency Very good attendance and punctuality Willingness to work OT General manufacturing, press and metal stamping equipment exposure is preferred
