Job Title:
Maintenance Technician Job Description This full-time Maintenance Technician role focuses on mechanical maintenance in an industrial environment, working Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. You will use your 3-4 years of mechanical maintenance experience, ideally gained in a food manufacturing plant, to keep equipment running safely, reliably, and efficiently. The position centers on troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and support of mechanical and related electrical systems to minimize downtime and optimize production performance. Responsibilities Perform mechanical troubleshooting on industrial machinery and systems to quickly identify and resolve issues. Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment to reduce breakdowns and extend equipment life. Inspect and maintain mechanical components such as conveyors, motors, gears, bearings, and other moving parts. Support and verify that related electrical systems associated with mechanical equipment function optimally. Monitor equipment performance, identify potential problems, and take corrective actions before failures occur. Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used in accordance with site procedures. Follow established safety procedures and lockout/tagout practices while performing maintenance tasks. Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to prioritize work and minimize equipment downtime. Assist with equipment setup, adjustments, and changeovers as needed to support production requirements. Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure tools and equipment are kept in good working order. Essential Skills At least 3-4 years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting. Proficiency in mechanical troubleshooting and repair of industrial equipment. Experience in handling and maintaining industrial machinery and mechanical systems. Knowledge of electrical systems as they relate to mechanical equipment and preventive maintenance. Ability to perform preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules and procedures. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose root causes of mechanical issues. Ability to read and follow maintenance instructions, procedures, and basic equipment documentation. Commitment to following safety standards and maintenance best practices in an industrial environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in a food manufacturing or meat processing plant is highly beneficial. Familiarity with working in environments that include refrigerated and freezer areas. Experience working as a maintenance technician in a high-throughput production facility. Ability to work independently during assigned shift while communicating effectively with the wider team. Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing maintenance needs. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a meat manufacturing plant that includes non-climate-controlled production areas, refrigerated rooms, and freezer spaces. You will work on and around industrial machinery and equipment in an active production setting. The role follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. You should be comfortable moving between different temperature zones, working in areas that may be noisy and fast-paced, and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and attire suitable for a food production and maintenance environment.
