JOB PURPOSE
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining safe, clean, and accessible accommodations for the individuals we support.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Must be able to operate lawn mowers, trimmers, and other machinery associated with landscaping and lawn maintenance Must be able to drive and operate the agency's large truck and/or van as needed (valid RI license required) Must be physically able and capable of lifting heavy objects of 60lbs or less. Moving a variety of furniture and equipment is a recurring task required of this position Knowledgeable of basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, power tools, and responsible for all agency-owned tools and equipment Ability to work on ladders for miscellaneous tasks as needed Responsible for snow shoveling and other aspects of snow removal as needed. Presence after snowstorms is vital in helping to keep the agency's vehicle fleet available for use during hours of operation following snow events Capable of taking initiative in recognizing problems and/or potential issues at any agency facilities and responding accordingly by initiating additional resolution once acknowledged Assist with miscellaneous tasks regarding agency fleet vehicles as needed and coordinate with agency mechanics regarding necessary maintenance for all vehicles Transport agency vehicles to mechanic/dealerships as needed when damage occurs or required maintenance is necessary Willing and accepting of periodic "on-call timeframes" of after-hours maintenance requests in emergent situations (weekends/holidays/inclement weather) Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all agency vendors related to ongoing and future items related to agency facilities Completing received work orders in a timely fashion and providing clear feedback regarding work order completeness/follow-up once task is done Willing to utilize an agency-provided email address along with your personal cell phone as the primary means of communication between agency employees and vendors Assist with general office work related to the work order request system and the ordering of supplies and materials per request from the Facilities Director, Chief Facilities Management Officer, and Business Office Manager Detail-oriented, able to work independently without much supervision, able to prioritize jobs and make the most out of time spent on each task Ability to work within the direction of the Facilities Director and Chief Facilities Management Officer to complete jobs in a timely manner Responsible for attending any appropriate/general staff meetings, department meetings, and training when scheduled Responsible for completion of other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor(s)QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred experience in residential or commercial facilities with a concentration on maintenance and landscaping areas.WHY APPLY WITH US?
