Maintenance Technician Job Description This role focuses on maintaining and repairing production machinery and facility equipment to meet strict quality and performance standards while minimizing downtime You will support a range of equipment including robots, water jets, hydraulic presses, conveyors, vacuum pumps, and air compressors The position involves hands-on mechanical work, preventive maintenance, and project-based tasks such as building tables and performing facilities maintenance to support both existing and new product lines Job Responsibilities Repair machines and equipment to ensure they meet all quality and performance standards and keep downtime to a minimum Perform preventive maintenance on production and facility equipment, including robots, water jets, hydraulic presses, conveyors, vacuum pumps, air compressors, and building water systems Replace lines on water jet systems, including removing coils, replacing guns using screw and air tools, and rebuilding componnts into the holder without over-tightening mechanisms to prevent leaks in stainless-steel lines Support projects such as building tables, performing facilities maintenance, and working on all equipment across the facility as needed Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical systems such as conveyors, pumps, and hydraulic components to ensure reliable operation Perform basic electrical troubleshooting, including using a voltmeter to test fuses (110V/220V) and address minor electrical issues Essential Skills At least 3 years of mechanical background in an industrial, military, or maintenance environment Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot machine failures, including conveyors, pumps, and hydraulic systems Understanding of hydraulics, including gears, motors, and related machine components Experience performing mechanical repairs and maintenance on production equipment Basic electrical troubleshooting skills, including the ability to use a voltmeter to test fuses at 110V and 220V Ability to perform preventive maintenance tasks on mechanical and electrical systems Experience with tools and equipment commonly used in maintenance, including hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic tools Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Troy, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
