8 hours per day, 5 days per week, must be able to work Saturdays in a rotating schedule based on program needs. This is an hourly non-exempt position. On anEmergency Basis:

$25/HrQualifications:
High school diploma/GED and a willingness to learn maintenance tasks. Working knowledge of tools and maintenance methods. Must have a driver's license, which is valid in the State of New Jersey and points on license not to exceed 5 points. Required to drive agency vehicles.Summary of Job:
This position performs all maintenance type tasks at the direction of the Director of Operations or designee. The employee will cooperate with the agency's administration, Catholic Charities, Diocese of Paterson and/or Division of Developmental Disabilities and the Department staff in any inspection, investigation or inquiry.Job Tasks:
Perform general maintenance and repair tasks across residential & other agency properties. Communicate with Director of Operations or designee to prioritize daily tasks. Complete work orders efficiently and with high-quality workmanship. Troubleshoot and repair maintenance issues involving electrical, plumbing, appliances and carpentry. Installing faucets, faucet washers, cleaning sink drains, toilet drains and related tasks. Repairing toilet flush systems, installing seats, installing toilet bowls, installing toilet room wall fixtures. Repairing holes in sheetrock and plaster walls, spackling and painting. Hang blinds, pictures, shelves and install and program code lock doorknobs. Making minor electrical repairs, light switches, replacing bulbs and fixtures, etc. Knowledge of the air-conditioning and/or heating system(s) HVAC operation. Replacing air conditioning and heating/ventilation filters, programming thermostats and cleaning overhead air grills on a regular basis. Errands as needed. Assist with set up and break down for agency functions. Vehicle maintenance and transportation. Grounds maintenance including seasonal tasks such as snow removal and outdoor upkeep. Support service recipient moves including painting, repairs, and moving furniture. Moving Furniture and Equipment. Work with Maintenance Technician I and provide basic training in the above mentioned job tasks while working side-by-side. Interface with Catholic Charities staff across all agencies to share ideas, realize cost efficiencies and to collaborate in support of Catholic Charities. Perform any and all duties designated by the Director of Operations or designee. The Maintenance Technician II must be familiar with and comply with all agency, Catholic Charities/Diocese of Paterson and DDD policies and procedures for staff and people living in the home. Must comply with all laws, Medicaid standards and other regulatory requirements. The Maintenance Technician II must have a physical exam prior to employment and obtain a Mantoux test or free from TB contagion clearance. Must meet fingerprint requirements, checks of criminal background, the central registry, the child abuse registry, and drug test requirements. This job requires a person that will be extremely dependable, as people's lives depend on the support of the staff. The staff must be prompt, and must have transportation arranged so he/she will be able to get to the job in all weather conditions.
