Job Description:
The School Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and functional school environment. This role performs routine maintenance, repairs, and custodial support to ensure facilities, equipment, and grounds operate efficiently and meet safety standards. Key Responsibilities Facility Maintenance & Repairs Repair and maintain plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural systems (within skill level) Address work orders in a timely and efficient manner Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce equipment failure Custodial & Grounds Support Assist with general cleaning duties as needed (e.g., spills, emergencies) Maintain outdoor areas including mowing, trimming, and debris removal Set up and break down spaces for school events, meetings, and activities Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with local, state, and district safety regulations Identify and report hazards, unsafe conditions, or needed repairs Maintain proper use and storage of tools, equipment, and chemicals Maintain professional behavior, appearance, and work ethic to represent the school district in a positive manner at all times Equipment & Inventory Operate and maintain maintenance tools and equipment Monitor inventory of supplies and notify supervisor when restocking is needed
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Have reasonable knowledge and skill level to work in a variety of different trades Must be able to pass a background check Demonstrate effective customer service strategies to all district patrons Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
EXPERIENCE
CDL required or willing to obtain CDL
