This position is located at Wakonda State Park, 32836 State Park Road, La Grange, MO . This position typically works Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break. Shifts may vary occasionally with the time of year and to meet the needs of the facility. Responsibilities
  • What you'll do Responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled work in maintenance, natural resource stewardship, and repair or alteration of state buildings and facilities.
Work in a variety of trade areas such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete and masonry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair in settings such as facilities and grounds. Routine cleaning of park/historic site buildings, restrooms, campsites, and grounds. Maintain a valid vehicle operator's license to operate and maintain licensed vehicles, as well as tractors, mowers, skid steer, and other grounds related equipment. Operate and maintain lawn mowers, tractors, skid loader, trucks, chainsaws, leaf blowers, and similar mechanical equipment. Basic computer and customer service skills for timekeeping and regular report tracking. Assist with prescribed burns, wildfire suppression, herbicide application, and other natural or cultural activities as directed; including completion of Level 1 Prescribed Fire training. May also oversee a crew engaged in maintenance tasks. Qualifications
  • All you need for success This position may be required to obtain and maintain appropriate commercial operator's license (CDL), water/wastewater certifications, and/or other required licenses/certifications.
If required, and if you do not currently possess this license/certification, you will be given six months to obtain necessary license/certification. AND To be successful in this position, a candidate will need the following skills: Attention to

Building and Construction:
Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools to construct objects, structures, and buildings.
Electrical:
Knowledge of electrical equipment, components, instruments, and systems, including their design, installation, testing, uses, repair, or maintenance.
Plumbing and Pipefitting:
Knowledge of materials, methods, and the appropriate tools to install, maintain, or repair pipelines, pipe systems, and fixtures, including water, air, steam, gas, chemicals, or sewage. Equivalent to those typically gained by: 1-3 years of experience in any of the following trade areas: electrical, plumbing, concrete and masonry, carpentry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair. (Additional education or experience may substitute for the required education or experience) Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
