Applicants eligible for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed salary range listed above. This position will be located at Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park, 148 Taum Sauk Tr. Middle Brook, MO 63656 . Candidates will typically work 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. and may be required to work weekends and holidays. Responsibilities - What you'll do Assist the lead maintenance worker with maintenance and repairs on park buildings, water distributions systems, wastewater systems, and park grounds. Work in a variety of trade areas such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete and masonry, painting, welding, and mechanical repair. Operate and maintain vehicles, lawn mowers, tractors, chainsaws, leaf blowers, and similar mechanical equipment. Routine cleaning of park buildings, restrooms, and park grounds and trails. Assist with monitoring and testing of water and wastewater to ensure compliance with environmental regulations Assist with the training and supervision of seasonal employes, while ensuring a safe work environment. Assist with stewardship activities such as prescribed burns, invasive species management, and wildfire suppression. Work independently on various tasks with little supervision. Participate in meetings, workshops and seminars requiring overnight stays. Qualifications - All you need for success This position may be required to obtain and maintain appropriate water/wastewater certifications, and/or other required licenses/certification. If required and if you do not currently possess this license/certification, you will be given twelve months to obtain necessary license/certification. To be successful in this position, a candidate will need the following skills:

Equivalent to those typically gained by: 1-3 years of experience in any of the following trade areas: electrical, plumbing, concrete, and masonry, carpentry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair. (Additional education or experience may substitute for the required education or experience)
Preferred Qualifications and Experience/Special Job Requirements:
Ability to operate a vehicle and maintain a valid vehicle operator's license. Available to work nights, weekends, holidays, evenings, and split shifts. Must work a minimum of two weekends per month during on season April through October. Available to participate in meetings, workshops and seminars requiring overnight stays. Must complete Level 1 prescribed fire training within 12 months of employment. Must be able to perform strenuous physical outdoor work in extreme or inclement weather conditions, able to stand or walk on uneven terrain for extended periods, lift, carry and load up to 50 pounds repeatedly, bend, stoop, crawl and work on elevated surfaces, operate equipment for extended timeframes such as mowers, tractors, trimmers, backpack blowers, and climb ladders. Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
