Job Summary:
The MA or LPN performs various patient care activities and related services in caring for the needs and comfort of patients under the direction of the physician or mid-level provider. MA /LPN duties include (but are not limited to) obtaining basic assessment information including vital signs, EKG's, and point of care testing, advocating for patients, administering prescribed medications, preparing exam rooms, procedure room, and assisting providers. Documenting in the EMR according to TSMH policy and procedures. Each position has specific requirements with unique duties and responsibilities. See Clinic Director for specific requirements.
Wage Range:
The wage range associated with this position will be based on licensure.
MA Registered:
$18.00•$26.43
MA Certified:
$19.50•$28.64
LPN:
$21.50•$31.57
Education and Training:
High school diploma or equivalency (GED) required. Completion of an accredited medical assisting program or nursing program preferred.
Licensures/ Certifications:
National or state certification required for CMA's. Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR, certification card on hire or within orientation period. LPN license required for LPN.
Experience:
Minimum of one year of experience in a physician office, hospital or ambulatory care facility.
Skills and Abilities:
Compassionate, dedicated to exceptional patient care. Knowledgeable in medical terminology, detail-oriented, and excellent interpersonal skills. General clinical technical skills preferred.
