Job Description

Management Analyst Village of Deerfield, IL The Village of Deerfield, Illinois (Pop. 19,197) seeks applicants for the full-time position of Management Analyst in the Administration Department. The hiring range for this exempt position is $85,292 to $90,309, depending on experience and qualifications (full salary range: $85,292 to $110,377 adjusted annually). The Management Analyst supports the Village Manager's Office and carries out the programs and activities of the Village Clerk through a wide range of administrative, operational, and organizational responsibilities. This position also plays a key role in coordinating community events, supporting boards and commissions, maintaining official records, and assisting with research, communications, and special projects. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities while working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced municipal environment. This position reports to the Assistant to the Village Manager.
Education and Experience:
  • Master's Degree in Public Administration or a related field
  • Preferred 1-2 years of progressively responsible professional experience (municipal or nonprofit experience preferred)
Valid Driver's License Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Record, prepare, and maintain accurate meeting minutes, official documents, and Village records in compliance with statutory requirements
  • Maintain Village Clerk files and oversee document recording processes to ensure organization, accessibility, and compliance
  • Assist in communicating Village policies, initiatives, and programs through correspondence, presentations, and public-facing materials
  • Monitor and update the Village website to ensure accurate and timely information
  • Participate in organizational and executive staff meetings and collaborate with departments on Village initiatives
  • Conduct research and administrative studies; prepare reports with findings and recommendations
  • Plan and coordinate community and employee events, including July 4 festivities and Winter community events
  • Serve as staff liaison to boards and commissions, including the Family Days Commission, Farmers Market Committee, and Wellness Committee
  • Attend evening meetings, including Village Board meetings, and deliver public presentations as needed
  • Provide administrative support for Village software systems
  • Support administrative processes related to adjudication hearings
  • Prepare weekly Village Board packets and public meeting agendas
  • Provide high-quality customer service and support community relations efforts
  • Administer and process licenses and permits, including liquor licenses, raffle permits, and solicitation permits
  • Provide notary services and assist with election-related activities
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally
  • Advanced proofreading and editing skills, with familiarity across print and digital platforms
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with team members and departments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and municipal software systems
