Job Description
Shipping Manager Tailored Brands is a leading specialty retailer of menswear, including suits, formalwear, sportswear, and a broad selection of business casual offerings. Our brands include Men's Wearhouse, Jos. A. Bank, Moores and K&G Fashion Superstore, which offers merchandise for the entire family. We help people love the way they look and feel for their most important moments by delivering personalized products and services through our convenient network of stores and e-commerce sites. About the Job As the Shipping Manager you will manage all the daily dock and shipping operations and must be able to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment, generate, reconcile, and process reports, including researching inventory discrepancies and partnering with other departments as needed. This successful candidate must be able to provide effective leadership of operational execution of all plans, to ensure the absolute best service, and can motivate a team to accomplish common goals. What You'll Do | Key Accountabilities
- Effectively manage staff in all areas of the department including dock, shipping, and driving personnel
- Champion employee training and growth and promote self-development
- Maintain employee attendance records
- Monitor, identify, and address employee performance issues
- Work with other departments within the distribution center to solve inbound and outbound merchandise processing and shipping issues and problems
- Monitor, track, and maintain a high inventory control performance
- Participate in daily planning meetings with all functional managers
- Interact with and maintain a positive relationship with management and department staff
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Maintain equipment inventory
- Maintain a high-quality, fun, enjoyable work environment and assist in employee events
- Assist Operations Manager in the development of plans to accomplish departmental goals and meet budgets
- Help maintain supply inventory
- Document and track metrics to measure efficiency and productivity of departments
- Work on special projects as needed, including, but not limited to, 5S initiatives, process and organizational improvement initiatives, safety initiatives, and spirit initiatives
- Ensure employee morale is kept at a high standard
- Manage activities designed to reduce the risk of accidents and decrease safety-related costs
- Ensure organizational safety compliance and promote awareness What You'll Bring | Skills & Experience
- Must have 4 years of experience managing in a distribution environment
- High School diploma / Bachelor's degree in Logistics, fleet transportation or a related field preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft office products to include Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- High confidentiality competence
- Positive professional manner
- Ability to see, make, and lead positive changes and transformation, while always being a servant leader
- Ability to learn and adjust quickly
- Ability to help solve employee conflict through proven conflict resolution skill
- Ability to prioritize and organize work related tasks and special projects
- Ability to work in a time-sensitive environment and meet tight deadlines
- Above average written and verbal communication skills (i.e., effective communication with staff, management, store personnel, etc.)
- Work well in a team environment
- Highly detailed oriented
- Strong problem-solving, analytic skills
- Ability to observe, plan, and assign work fairly and according to employee's competency
- An understanding of and experience with distribution center and government safety programs and regulations
- Strong customer service skills

- Continuously standing, walking, sitting, reaching and working overhead, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, stretching, crouching, and crawling
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for grasping, reaching, pulling, and pushing
- Frequent use of ladders and/or lift equipment

- GOH hub sorting, pulling and loading
- Retail and Ecommerce shipping across both DC's

- Full case/case pack sorting and staging
- Management of OTR and 3rd party needs based on volumes.
- Manages shuttle drivers and shuttling of product between both DC's
- Manage 7-day operation within both DC's o Monday to Friday 7 to 3:30 o Sunday to Wednesday 7 to 5:30 o Wednesday to Saturday 7 to 5:30
