Founded in 1999, SHM joined the CCBank family of companies in 2024. We're a focused, compliance-minded organization that takes pride in doing things right—from the loans we originate to the way we care for our people. As we scale, we're looking for a seasoned HR leader to serve as our trusted part-time HR partner. The Opportunity You've spent your career building HR programs, navigating complex compliance landscapes, and earning the trust of both leadership and employees. Now you're looking for something that gives you real work without the 50+hour weeks, and you want it to actually matter. This role is designed for exactly that person. As SHM's Manager, HR Services, you'll be the primary HR voice for our organization setting the tone for compliance, guiding HRIS strategy, supporting employee engagement, and ensuring our people operations reflect the standards of a well-run financial services company. You'll work closely with SHM's leadership team and CCBank's HR department. We need someone who has the expertise and know-how to review what we have, identify what we're missing, and help us build it better. What You'll Lead HR Compliance & Regulatory Oversight Ensure SHM's HR practices remain current and compliant with federal, multi-state, and industry-specific employment regulations. Conduct periodic HR compliance audits and proactively identify gaps or risk areas Maintain and update the employee handbook, HR policies, and acknowledgment workflows Oversee licensing, background check processes, and mandatory training documentation Partner with external legal counsel on sensitive employee matters and escalations Payroll & Benefits Oversee payroll coordination in partnership with the Accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely processing Serve as the internal liaison for benefits providers and the 401(k) plan administrator Lead annual benefit renewals and open enrollment process Lead annual 401(k) audit preparation, compliance testing, and open enrollment Manage employee eligibility tracking, enrollments, and contribution documentation HRIS Strategy & Management (Paycom) Serve as the strategic owner and system administrator for Paycom Ensure data integrity across employee records, compensation, PTO, and reporting structures Identify and implement system improvements to reduce manual workload and improve accuracy Produce meaningful workforce analytics—headcount, turnover, and PTO trends—for leadership decision-making Align HRIS configuration with evolving business needs and compliance requirements Employee Engagement & Culture Serve as a trusted resource for employees Advise leadership on engagement strategies, recognition programs, and culture initiatives appropriate for a team of SHM's size Support manager effectiveness by providing guidance on team dynamics, feedback, and performance documentation Help leadership navigate difficult employee conversations with the right balance of empathy and legal awareness Employee Lifecycle & HR Operations Own onboarding end-to-end: offer workflows, I-9 verification, system setup, and first-day experience Manage offboarding processes including documentation, system access removal, and final pay coordination Maintain complete, confidential employee personnel files Coordinate with IT on equipment provisioning and access management What You Bring 10+ years of broad HR experience, with meaningful time spent in financial services, mortgage lending, banking, or a similarly regulated industry Deep working knowledge of HR compliance: federal and state employment law, CFPB/mortgage industry regulations, I-9 requirements, ERISA, and FLSA Hands-on experience with Paycom or a comparable enterprise HRIS—you know how to configure it, not just use it Proven track record managing 401(k) administration, annual audits, and benefits programs Experience building or improving HR infrastructure in a growing or mid-size organization PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, orSHRM-SCP
