Ideal candidate will possess well rounded background in lab operations including leading and hosting inspections, supervision of staff and technical areas as well as successful completion of an accredited laboratory sciences program
Manager of Lab Quality and Compliance Position Purpose:
The Manager, Laboratory Operations is responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, directing and monitoring the operations of their assigned department(s) within the MCHS laboratory structure along with all assigned duties across the MCHS. Works in collaboration with other MCHS management and the Pathologist(s) to identify, implement and achieve strategic and operational objectives of MCHS. May support facilities as a resource in time of need at the operations manager level due to absences, extended illness or coverage as needed. Develop, implement, and monitor Point of Care Testing including new testing procedures. Participate in the evaluation and development of new point of care testing, maintaining proper records. Prepare and present internal quality assurance reports and audits to departments participating in quality improvement assessment (i.e. patient safety goals). Develop corrective action plans to monitor deficiencies in quality issues. Maintain policy and procedure manuals in accordance to CAP, CLIA, CMS, JCAHO, , etc. standards. Ensure test systems are working properly, maintain, troubleshoot and take corrective action with equipment as needed. Train and orient personnel, confirming competency. This position will be the Lab Manager for our Grove City site and provide quality, compliance POC systemwide oversight.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors of Science or Bachelors of Art. Degree, Masters Degree preferred Licensure /
Certification:
Clinical Laboratory:
MLS, CLS, MT
(ASCP) or equivalent.
Experience:
At least three years of diversified, practical experience in all areas of medical laboratory. Five years recent medical laboratory operations, leadership experience preferred. Effective Communication Skills Demonstrated leadership qualities including human relations skills, financial management abilities, decision-making abilities and problem-solving skills. Experience setting up and maintaining clinical laboratory quality program aligning with requirements set forth by CLIA and the CAP History of preparing for CAP inspections in multiple laboratory areas Successfully leading teams in support of CAP inspections. Experience in leading point of care testing programs desired
