Position Summary:
The Material Review Board (MRB) Process Manager leads a team of MRB Engineers in the execution of the MRB process. The MRB process involves evaluating nonconformance's against the product definition and prior MRB history to determine if the product is scrap, reworkable, or should be submitted to the customer to accept as is or repair consideration.
Essential Functions:
Lead and manage the MRB team, including development, implementation, and continuous improvement of all policies, procedures, and goals. Perform business analysis of the total population of MRB WIP in pieces and value. Trend value and provide management guidance for attaining a result of a steady reduction of gross and Net MRB value leading to a steady-state of less than 1-2 weeks of sales value in total MRB. Analyze variations to part print specifications which effect part form, fit, and function. This includes performing tolerance stacks, metallurgical, NDT, and heat transfer analysis. Ensure nonconformances requiring customer evaluation are submitted to the customer and processed per customer and internal procedures. Capture and document root cause analysis for verified discrepancies. Assist with root causes and corrective actions for systemic shop issues (missed offsets, incorrect technical approach, supplier raw material or outside processing defects). Work with suppliers to identify and implement rework and manufacturing process changes. Work with internal departments (operations, quality, and engineering) to assist with proper execution of corrective action. Determine classes of quality non-confirmative repair disposition and delegate standard repairs to MRB Engineers. Develop in-house supply capability to execute standard repairs. Perform other related duties or responsibilities as requested or required.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related data Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or 10+ years of relevant experience in MRB environment, manufacturing engineering, or quality engineering. Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook). Proficient in reading and interpreting CAD drawings, blueprints, engineer work instructions. Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) and statistical process control. Knowledge of manufacturing support processes and systems (inspection, gauging, data collection, records & reporting, first article approvals). Knowledge of ERP system (Syteline). Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization. Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices. Ability to read, write, and understand English at a functional level. Ability to travel 5-10% when required.
