Jobs › Franklin, MA › Manufacturing Buyer Robert Half Manufacturing Buyer Franklin, MA Apply Description We are looking for a Manufacturing Buyer to support production operations by securing materials and services that keep manufacturing schedules on track in the Bellingham MA area . This role combines day-to-day purchasing execution with supplier management, cost control, and inventory oversight in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. The ideal candidate brings strong sourcing judgment, data analysis skills, and the ability to work closely with internal teams to maintain a dependable supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Manage purchase orders from creation through delivery, ensuring materials arrive when needed and align with budget expectations.
- Source components and external services for manufacturing operations, balancing short-term needs with longer-range supplier strategies.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities, compare quotations, and recommend vendors that best match quality, cost, and operational requirements.
- Partner with production leaders, planners, and cross-functional teams to prevent shortages and support uninterrupted manufacturing output.
- Track supply chain and purchasing data to identify trends, report performance, and support informed buying decisions.
- Maintain inventory targets and help administer demand-driven replenishment processes to keep stock levels accurate and efficient.
- Update purchasing records and item master data, including lead times, order parameters, supplier details, and part information.

- At least 3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or a related manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, manufacturing, production processes, or a similar field is preferred.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation such as product drawings and mechanical or electrical specifications.
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing ERP systems, including SyteLine or comparable platforms, along with solid materials management knowledge.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage priorities, solve problems, and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate well across departments and with suppliers.
