Job Description

Manufacturing Intern Apex Tool Group United States, South Carolina, Lexington 670 Industrial Drive (Show on map) May 06, 2026 The Blueprint (Role Profile) This internship provides hands-on experience supporting operational excellence initiatives within the Lexington manufacturing facility. You will work alongside engineering and operations teams to identify opportunities, improve processes, and support projects that drive efficiency, productivity, and cost reduction. You won't be observing from the sidelines. You'll be in the plant, working on real problems tied to Cleco, HK Porter, and Crescent product lines. The Build (Responsibilities) Support continuous improvement projects focused on productivity, efficiency, and waste reduction
Assist with time studies, process mapping, and workflow analysis on the plant floor
Help identify bottlenecks in manufacturing and material flow
Partner with engineering and operations to support process improvements and small-scale automation efforts
Collect and analyze production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
Assist in developing and updating standard work instructions and documentation
Participate in root cause problem solving and corrective action efforts
Support implementation of lean manufacturing principles across the site
Help track and report on key performance metrics The Toolbox (Qualifications) Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Interest in manufacturing, process improvement, or automation
Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
Comfortable spending time on the plant floor
Proficiency in Excel or basic data analysis tools preferred
