Job Description
Manufacturing Planner Houston, Mississippi Position Summary The Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing production and material plans to ensure timely and efficient manufacturing operations. This role coordinates material flow from suppliers and internal departments, optimizes inventory, and ensures alignment with production schedules and KPIs. The Planner will collaborate cross-functionally to support operational goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Core Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain master production schedules based on demand forecasts, capacity, and material availability. Plan and schedule material requirements to support production needs and customer delivery commitments. Coordinate and expedite material flow between suppliers, warehouses, and production areas. Monitor and adjust schedules to address changes in demand, capacity constraints, or material shortages. Optimize inventory levels to prevent stockouts and minimize excess inventory. Analyze MRP/ERP data to identify and resolve planning discrepancies. Collaborate with Procurement, Production, and Engineering teams to ensure alignment on priorities and timelines. Drive process improvements in planning and scheduling to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times. Prepare and present planning metrics and reports to leadership.Additional Responsibilities:
Ensure operational alignment with production plan and KPIs. Support cost reduction initiatives through efficient planning and resource utilization. Participate in cross-functional meetings to resolve scheduling conflicts and improve workflow. Maintain accurate planning data in ERP systems (Epicor preferred). Education/Certifications Bachelor's degree required or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
