Direct Hire Must be a US citizen due to the company having federal contracts Position Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to support manufacturing quality operations within a fast-paced production environment. This role is responsible for driving quality assurance initiatives, generating inspection documentation, supporting supplier and customer quality activities, and ensuring products consistently meet customer and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience working within ISO and/or AS quality systems, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work independently while supporting cross-functional teams. This individual will report directly to the Quality Assurance Manager and play a key role in continuous improvement efforts across the organization. Key Qualifications Experience working within ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent data analysis, reporting, and presentation abilities Self-motivated, organized, and able to work autonomously Experience within a manufacturing quality environment Strong understanding of quality tools and root cause analysis methodologies Core Responsibilities Quality Inspection & Documentation Generate First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and PPAP documentation Develop inspection plans for incoming, in-process, and final inspections Program and operate Micro-Vu vision systems for final inspections Program Keyence IM systems for incoming and final inspections Review engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles to inspection processes QA/QC Laboratory Operations Coordinate daily priorities for QA/QC lab inspectors Oversee final inspections to ensure on-time delivery and product quality Train inspectors and develop visual work instructions and inspection aids Maintain and improve inspection software systems and data management processes Support implementation of new automated inspection technologies Supplier & Customer Quality Participate in recurring customer quality meetings and continuous improvement initiatives Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to resolve quality-related issues Support customer communication regarding RMAs and corrective actions Material Review & Root Cause Analysis Coordinate and lead MRB (Material Review Board) meetings Manage RMA (Return Material Authorization) activities and customer responses Perform root cause investigations using: 5-Why Ishikawa/Fishbone 8D FMEA methodologies Determine inspection sampling plans using AQL standards Utilize statistical and reporting tools such as Excel, JMP, and 1Factory Support product testing activities including environmental and reliability testing Continuous Improvement & New Product Support Partner with engineering teams to improve manufacturing yield and product quality Support new product development and create inspection strategies for R D and NPI programs Design and 3D print QA fixtures using SolidWorks Assist in implementing process and inspection improvements across manufacturing operations Additional Responsibilities Participate in internal, customer, and third-party quality audits Review customer quality requirements and flow-down documentation Attend production stand-up meetings and provide QA updates Support ERP transactions related to quality and material disposition activities Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or related technical discipline Minimum of 3 years of Quality Engineering or Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment Experience working within
ISO 9001
quality systems required Experience with AS9100 quality systems is highly preferred Familiarity with ERP systems such as
SAP, M2M, QT9
, or similar platforms Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) certification is a plus Minimum Requirements Strong understanding of manufacturing quality systems and inspection processes Experience applying quality tools and root cause methodologies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint Ability to analyze, interpret, and present quality data effectively Excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to work safely within a manufacturing environment U.S. Citizenship required
