Department Workforce Development & Technical Education Opening Date 06/09/2026 MACC is seeking candidates interested in teaching non-credit access classes within the MACCLab Makerspace. These positions are contracted on a class by class basis with pay by the hour. Availability of positions is based on enrollment in courses offered at the MACCLab makerspace. Many courses are consistently needed once or twice a month for the safe functioning of the makerspace, others may be featured as one-time events focusing on using equipment for a specific purpose. Applicants will be added to our "pool" of instructors. Industry experience in the subject area is required. Classes seeking instructors include: Basic Metal Works - 2-hour access class introducing the metal shop equipment, safety protocols, and uses. . Metal Forming - 2-hour access class introducing the bench milling machine and metal lathe Intro to CNC Routers - 2-hour access class introducing the CNC routers as well as safety protocols, and uses. Intro to Solidworks -2-hour access class introducing the basics of the SolidWorksputer program for CAD and CAM modeling. Intro to 3D ing -- 2-hour access class introducing the basics of 3D ing as well as the safety protocols and uses.

This is the only class needed for use of Ultimaker. An additional class is needed for access to the Form 3 Resin and Stratasys ers. Form 3 Resin ing - 2-hour access class introducing the Form 3 resin er as well as the safety protocols and uses. The pre-requisite for this class is successfulpletion of Intro to 3D ing. Stratasys 3D ing - 1-hour access class introducing the Stratasys er as well as the safety protocols and uses. The pre-requisite for this class is successfulpletion of Intro to 3D ing. Intro to Laser Cutting - 2-hour access class introducing the Universal Systems Laser Cutters as well as safety protocols, and uses. Intro to Electronics - 2-hour access class introducing the electronics station as well as safety protocols, and uses. An additional class is needed for access to the PCB Mill. PCB Milling Machine - 1-hour access class introducing the PCB Mill as well as safety protocols, and uses. All materials are provided within the class fee. The pre-requisite for this class is successfulpletion of Intro to Electronics. The application packet must include a cover letter, and resume/curriculum vitae. Qualifications 3 years industry experience in subject area Bachelors or Masters degree preferred Teaching experience preferred Job Responsibilities Teach classes assigned by the MACCLab Coordinator. Provide effective instruction that epasses the safety protocols, standard operating procedures, and tips or tricks for equipment use. Work with MACCLab Coordinator to develop course materials/handouts, lectures and labs, and update regularly to ensure relevancy, currency, and alignment with course goals and desired oues. Develop project that can effectively test the students understanding of how to properly and safely operate the equipment and/or software and bepleted in the time allotted. Provide accurate accounting of students' skill level and confidence in their ability to safely use the equipment without further direction. Be occasionally available for students who desire to test out of the access class and be able to properly assess whether or not they should be granted authorization without taking the class.
