Primary Purpose:
This position is to accurately and efficiently assemble cabinets and drawer boxes using melamine materials in accordance with production specifications and quality standards. This role is essential to maintaining consistent output and structural integrity in the cabinet manufacturing process, ensuring each unit has the proper fit, and function of a high-quality finished product.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Cabinet Assembly:
Build custom cabinets and drawer boxes using melamine panels, screws, and specified joinery techniques (e.g., dowel, butt joint, dovetail).
Blueprint & Technical Interpretation:
Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and cut lists to assemble units to exact specifications.
Structural Quality:
Ensure assembled boxes are square, structurally sound, and properly fitted, making adjustments and corrections as necessary.
Component Installation:
Accurately install cabinet backs, stretchers, and interior parts according to design requirements.
Tool Operation:
Safely and effectively use hand tools, pneumatic tools (nailers, drills), and shop equipment to assemble components.
Inspection & Quality Control:
Inspect finished products for proper fit and finish; identify and address any defects or issues before final processing.
Material Handling:
Efficiently move, organize, and stage materials, drawers, and cabinets to maintain production flow.
Team Communication:
Coordinate with supervisors and coworkers to resolve issues and ensure alignment with production goals.
Shop Cleanliness & Safety:
Maintain a clean, organized work area and comply with shop safety standards.
Cross-Training:
Participate in cross-training initiatives to support shop flexibility and collaboration. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
Ability to read and execute detailed shop drawings with minimal supervision.
Tool Proficiency:
Skilled in the use of common woodworking hand tools and shop equipment.
Physical Requirements:
Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and standing for extended periods during work hours. Attention to

High standards for craftsmanship, accuracy, and finished product quality.
Problem-Solving:
Identify assembly issues and make quick, effective adjustments.
Time Management:
Meet production deadlines while maintaining quality and safety.

Lean Thinking:
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and willingness to contribute to efficiency improvements.
