00 per hour | Hourly + Full Benefits About the Role Cabinets Plus is a whole-room remodeling company built around custom cabinetry, serving the northwest Chicago suburbs out of our own Palatine showroom. We take a room from demo to finished (kitchens, baths, built-ins and more) backed by our in-house design and showroom team. Our reputation rides on the quality of what we leave behind in a client's home. We're growing, and we're looking for a lead who can run jobs to that standard and help us build the next generation of installers in-house. This is a role for someone who takes real ownership of a job site, has the carpentry, electrical, and plumbing skills to see a remodel through, and knows how to be the calm, professional face of the company in a client's home. What You'll Do On-Site Execution & Craftsmanship Arrive at the job, assess the scope of work, and plan your time to meet that scope, then keep it moving to the finish Install custom cabinetry to a high finish standard following the layout and design specified, including scribing, leveling, and clean reveals plus the surrounding carpentry Complete the majority of electrical and plumbing work in-house yourself, liaising with the Ops team to bring in a trusted specialist sub when a job is complex enough to require one Set up the work for specialist trades so subs can come in, do their part cleanly, and get out efficiently Team Leadership & Development Work as a two-person team with your second installer, directing the work and getting the most out of that partnership Teach and mentor: bring along your second installer and junior talent so we keep growing skilled people in-house Manage issues as they come up — and in remodeling, they will — catching surprises early, solving them, and knowing when to escalate Client & Site Management Be the customer's point of contact on site: answer questions and represent Cabinets Plus professionally throughout the project, escalating to the project designer when necessary Keep it clean and meticulous: protect the home, manage the mess, and hold a high standard of finish and job-site care Who We're Looking For 5+ years of experience in residential remodeling or cabinetry installation (Preferred) Valid driver's license and a clean enough record to drive a company van (Required) Proven experience running residential remodel or cabinetry jobs as a lead Strong cabinetry and finish carpentry skills A genuinely good level of electrical and plumbing knowledge
  • enough to complete most remodel work in-house Able to walk into a job, read the scope, and plan the work without a lot of direction Excellent communication
  • comfortable being the professional face of the company in a client's home Works well in a tight two-person team and coordinates specialist subs smoothly Calm and resourceful when a remodel throws up surprises Genuinely enjoys teaching and developing people Meticulous, clean, and organized on site Strong Pluses Relevant trade licenses or certifications (electrical/plumbing) Experience with high-end / custom kitchen and bath work Comfort reading shop drawings and cabinetry specs The Support You'll Have You'll work as a two-person team with a dedicated second installer, with our Ops team ready to bring in trusted specialist subs when a job calls for it, and our project designer available to weigh in on scope questions.
Your tools, van, and fuel are covered so your time stays focused on the job. Compensation & Benefits Compensation is $40.00
