Position Overview:
Structura is seeking a skilled Wood Shop Woodworker to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on woodworking experience, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a dynamic workshop environment. The woodworker will execute projects from conceptual designs to finished pieces while maintaining safety, quality and adherence to production timelines.Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret technical drawings and verbal instructions to create precise wooden components.
- Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently (saws, planer, routers, sanders and possibly CNC machines).
- Select appropriate materials, measure, cut, glue, assemble, and finish wooden products to specifications.
- Maintain consistent quality and craftsmanship standards across all projects.
- Collaborate with designers, fabricators and other team members to ensure project goals are met.
- Monitor inventory of materials, tools, equipment and report needs for replenishment or repairs.
- Uphold shop cleanliness, organization and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project specifications.
- Detail-oriented, organized and capable of producing precise and consistent work.
- Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills.
- Physical stamina to lift, move and manipulate wood materials regularly.
Preferred Skills:
- Proven experience as a woodworker in a professional workshop or fabrication environment is not mandatory, but having a strong desire to learn is.
- Knowledge of sustainable or specialty wood materials.
- Ability to solve problems and offer creative approaches to woodworking challenges.
