About Bay View Painting Bay View Painting is a residential painting company serving the Midcoast Maine area, including Camden, Rockport, Rockland, Owls Head, and the surrounding towns. We're known for our attention to detail, integrity, and our high-quality services. We offer steady, year-round employment , not seasonal layoffs. We're looking for a skilled Finish Painter to handle the final application phases of our projects. Your work is the finished product our clients see, and our reputation rides on it. What You'll Do As a Finish Painter, you deliver the finish coats that define every job, working alongside the crew and reporting to the Site Coordinator.
Your day-to-day includes:
Applying professional finish coats to walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and cabinetry, interior and exterior, with clean cut lines and no brush marks, sags, runs, or lap marks. Spray application in our shop and on large-scale interior and exterior jobs, dialing in tip size, pressure, and fan pattern for uniform coverage. Fine cabinet and trim finishing to a factory-grade standard. Working smart on exteriors , following the shade around the building to avoid flash drying and lap marks, and verifying substrate moisture and film build meet spec before coating. Verifying prep quality , never coating over poor preparation. Working safely on ladders and scaffolding to reach high ceilings, soffits, and exterior walls. Protecting the property with complete masking and drops, and leading a clean, organized end-of-day breakdown. Taking part in the daily huddle , reporting honestly on progress and flagging any application, material, or safety risks for the day. What We're Looking For Proven finish painting experience across interior and exterior work, you know your way around brushes, rollers, and sprayers. A sharp eye for detail. Spray experience and fine-finish/cabinet work are a strong plus. Strong time management , you keep your work moving and stay on pace. Organized , you stay on top of your materials, masking, and workspace. A positive attitude that adds to the crew. Dependability. Comfortable with physical work and working at height (ladders, scaffolding, lifting). A reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license (vehicle required). Familiarity with moisture testing, mil thickness, and proper coating sequence is a big plus.
