Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Glazier to join our dynamic construction team. As a Lead Glazier, you will oversee and execute the installation, fabrication, and repair of glass and related materials across various projects. Your expertise will ensure precision, safety, and quality in every task, guiding junior team members and coordinating with project managers to meet deadlines and specifications. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead complex glazing projects while demonstrating your craftsmanship and leadership skills in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Lead the installation of glass panels, windows, doors, mirrors, and custom glazing solutions on construction sites. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication and installation. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and assemble glass components with precision. Manage heavy lifting operations safely using appropriate equipment to handle large or fragile glass materials. Coordinate with carpenters, metal stud framers, remodelers, and other trades to ensure seamless integration of glass fixtures within building structures. Perform quality checks on all installations to meet safety standards and client specifications. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior glaziers, fostering a safe work environment and promoting best practices in glass installation and fabrication. Skills Extensive experience with construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and fixture or cabinet installation. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, caulking techniques, trim carpentry, frame carpentry, door hanging, metal stud framing, remodeling, and construction painting. Strong knowledge of glass installation methods combined with fabrication skills for custom projects. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during assembly or remodeling tasks. Familiarity with construction site safety protocols including use of scaffolding and fall protection measures. Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail in manufacturing or remodeling environments. Prior handyman experience is a plus for versatile project support across various construction tasks.
