Drafter Job Summary:
The Drafter plays a crucial role in processing work orders for job boxes and ensuring accurate documentation of cabinet work. This position requires strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with CNC operators, shop foremen, assemblers, and sales representatives. A solid understanding of construction methods for custom cabinetry and architectural millwork is essential
Key Responsibilities:
Using Microvellum drafting software to produce cabinetry and other CNC type projects. Process work orders for job boxes. Communicate with CNC operator on programming items as needed. Use excel to type up cabinet work orders as needed. Knowledge in construction methods of custom cabinetry and architectural millwork. Must be able to communicate verbally and possess good writing skills. Communicate with shop foreman. Communicate with sales rep. Communicate with shop assemblers as needed. Ability to field measure at jobsites when needed. This may be with a team member or on your own. Understanding of cabinet hardware. Must be organized in documentation. Qualifications/Requirements Must have experience with AutoCAD. Production style drafting, not design drafting. Understanding of 2D drawings for Architectural and client approval required. Cabinet assembly experience is usually preferred. Microsoft office computer skills are also required for Outlook, Word, and Excel. Will be required to learn Microvellum drafting software. Training will be provided in-house and hired for assistance as needed; ability to learn on the go will also be required.
