Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Plant 4 Operator plays a key role in keeping our milk production line running smoothly and efficiently. This position is responsible for monitoring, operating, and maintaining process equipment to ensure product moves safely and consistently through each stage of production.
PLANT 4 OPERATOR RESPONSIIBILITIES
CIP all process equipment, silos and lines Perform the startup and shutdown functions of process equipment. Perform CIP and process connections. Operate E4, E5 and E6 evaporators. Operate skim separator processes. Perform silo transfers and make connections for receiving milk. Operate the cream HTST pasteurizers. Perform evaporator and equipment inspections. Identify, and correctly use chemicals as related to job. Maintain a high level of communication with each plant/process as the job demands. Keep accurate and legible records. Always maintain food safety and quality standards, resolving and/or reporting compliance issues immediately.
PLANT 4 OPERATOR QUALIFICATIONS
Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of good manufacturing practices. Ability to operate equipment safely. Must be able to work 12 hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required. Requires ability to read, hear, speak, and comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions & Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Ability to troubleshoot and prioritize time.
Experience:
At least 6 months experience working in a food production, manufacturing, or similar environment Knowledge of evaporators, separators, pasteurizing and food manufacturing processes, preferred Education/Certifications High School diploma or Educational Equivalent.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires ability to walk and stand for 12 or more hours at a time. Requires ability to stoop, bend, reach, lift and carry items up to 55lbs for extended periods of time. Requires ability to safely operate equipment. Requires ability to visually observe the condition of surroundings. Requires ability to hear, speak and frequently hear and speak in a noisy environment. Requires ability to push and pull items frequently including items 55lbs. Requires ability to climb ladders and stairs of various heights including floors of 100ft or more. Requires ability to work in varying extreme hot, cold, and wet temperatures and conditions. Requires ability to work safely with hazardous chemicals.
