Job Title:
Operator Trainee Job Description This role trains you to operate material handling and production equipment in a manufacturing environment. You safely move large honeycomb blocks, prepare and measure ingredients, and support oven-based production processes while following strict safety and quality standards. Responsibilities Operate forklifts to safely move and transport large honeycomb blocks within the manufacturing facility. Handle materials efficiently, including loading, unloading, staging, and organizing production materials. Calculate and measure the correct amount of ingredients required for production batches, following specified formulas and instructions. Set oven temperatures accurately according to production specifications and standard operating procedures. Monitor the production process, including oven cycles and material flow, to ensure consistent quality and adherence to process parameters. Assist with compounding activities by combining materials in the proper sequence and quantities. Follow hazmat handling and hazardous waste procedures when working with regulated materials. Use a respirator and other personal protective equipment as required for specific tasks and materials. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with manufacturing and safety standards. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production status, issues, and process improvements. Essential Skills Experience operating forklifts in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Proficiency in material handling, including moving, staging, and organizing materials safely. Ability to calculate and measure ingredients accurately using basic math and measurement tools. Capability to set and adjust oven temperatures and follow detailed production instructions. Familiarity with manufacturing processes and machine operation. Knowledge of hazmat handling procedures and safe handling of hazardous materials. Ability to wear and properly use a respirator and other required personal protective equipment. Experience working with hazardous waste handling and disposal procedures. Attention to detail and commitment to following safety and quality guidelines. Additional Skills & Qualifications Background as a hazmat handler or experience working with regulated materials. Experience as a compounder or in compounding operations within a manufacturing setting. Exposure to aerospace-related manufacturing or materials is beneficial. Comfort working with ovens, heat-based processes, and production machinery. Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability in a fast-paced production environment. Why Work Here?
