Position Overview:
The CVD Technician role ensures reliable operation, maintenance, and optimization of complex semiconductor processing equipment. This position works hands‑on in a cleanroom environment, partnering closely with operators, equipment engineers, and process engineers to keep tools running at peak performance. The CVD Technician is responsible for equipment installation, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and calibration across multiple process areas, with a primary focus on CVD systems.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with operators, equipment engineers, and process engineers to resolve equipment issues and improve performance Install, maintain, and modify equipment in a fast-paced wafer fab environment Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and ensure accurate documentation of all work Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs Collaborate with engineers to develop and implement maintenance procedures and best practices Monitor equipment data, identify trends, and recommend improvements Change chemical bottles and track consumables for reordering Follow cleanroom protocols, SOPs, and process engineer instructions across all wafer‑processing steps (lithography, deposition, CVD, etch, cleaning, dicing, etc.) Calibrate metrology tools, perform wafer measurements, and record data Report production issues or anomalies to process engineers Train new employees on equipment operation and procedures
Requirements:
At least 1 year of wafer fab experience, ideally as an equipment maintenance technician Ability to work overtime and night/swing shifts High school diploma required; bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering preferred Strong knowledge of semiconductor equipment, maintenance practices, and safety protocols Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to interpret equipment performance data Proficiency with diagnostic tools and inspection software Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume, high-temperature manufacturing environment Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.) Ability to lift 60+ lbs.
