Ultra Clean Technology (UCT) is seeking a Quality Technician Lead to join our Semiconductor Services operations in Fremont, CA. In this role, you will lead quality activities within a high-volume service environment focused on cleaning, processing, and restoring semiconductor tool components. You will ensure inspection accuracy, proper documentation, and strict adherence to quality standards to prevent defects and protect customer equipment performance. Key Responsibilities Lead and support daily quality inspection activities (incoming, in-process, final) Ensure technicians follow SOPs and inspection criteria accurately Validate inspection results and documentation prior to release Identify, contain, and disposition non-conforming material Support root cause investigations and corrective actions Train and mentor technicians on quality standards and best practices Partner with Production to improve quality, reduce defects, and meet KPIs Maintain detailed records of inspections, defects, and quality issues Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen) Required Qualifications 3+ years manufacturing or technical service experience Hands-on quality inspection experience Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy Ability to lead floor-level activities and guide technicians Comfortable in cleanroom / chemical processing environment Preferred Qualifications Semiconductor or parts cleaning experience Experience with RCA, CAPA, or audits Lean manufacturing exposure Other Duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Educational / Certification
Requirements High school diploma or GED required Associate degree or technical certification (quality, manufacturing, or related field) preferred Prior experience in a lead, trainer, or senior technician role strongly preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) for data tracking and documentation Ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment with high quality standards Willingness to work overtime and flexible hours as business needs require Ability to wear required cleanroom gowning and PPE Team-oriented with strong accountability and positive attitude Experience Requirements Work Experience 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, semiconductor services, or technical operations environment Hands-on experience performing quality inspections (incoming, in-process, final) Experience identifying, documenting, and controlling non-conforming material Experience supporting investigations and root cause analysis (RCA) preferred Prior experience leading, training, or guiding technicians in a production or quality environment Semiconductor, parts cleaning, or contamination-controlled environment experience preferred Physical Demands and Working Conditions (ADA Compliant) Work Environment Work is performed in a manufacturing and semiconductor service environment, including cleanroom and chemical processing areas Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions Physical Demands Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift Frequent use of hands and arms for inspection, handling parts, and documentation Ability to lift and move materials up to 35 pounds as needed Occasional bending, reaching, kneeling, and grasping Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods Ability to visually inspect parts for defects using defined quality standards Environmental Exposure Exposure to manufacturing equipment, moving mechanical parts, and chemical processes Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required at all times where applicable Moderate noise levels from equipment and compressed air systems Work may involve frequent interruptions and coordination across teams Ultra Clean Technology is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer. The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $26.20 and $39.38/hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including variable pay and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO (Paid Time Off) and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
