Role and Responsibilities:

Provide hands-on process support for PCBA manufacturing across SMT and through-hole/wave soldering. The technician is responsible for process setup, profiling, tooling readiness, parameter control, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and production quality. Knowledge of conformal coating and mechanical assembly is an advantage.

Skills and Experience:

Prepare, set up, verify, and release SMT and wave/selective soldering processes for production, NPI, prototype, and first-article builds.

Perform solder paste printer, SPI, reflow oven, AOI, wave soldering and mech assy setup and basic troubleshooting.

Develop, verify, and maintain reflow and wave soldering profiles using thermocouples and profiling equipment; ensure profiles meet product, component, solder, and flux requirements.

Prepare and verify stencils, squeegees, carriers, pallets, fixtures, and other production tooling before release.

Coordinate tooling fabrication, repair, modification, or qualification with external vendors; provide requirements, review deliverables, follow up schedules, and verify tooling acceptance before use.

Monitor critical process parameters and workmanship; respond to defects including insufficient solder, bridging, non-wetting, solder balls, icicles, poor hole fill, and placement issues.

Support defect containment, root cause analysis, corrective action, yield improvement, process optimization, and continuous improvement activities.

Perform preventive maintenance and coordinate equipment service or repair with Engineering and external vendors when required.

Maintain profiles, setup sheets, tooling records, checklists, process data, maintenance records, and work instructions.

Comply with IPC workmanship requirements, ESD controls, safety rules, 5S, and company quality procedures; provide operator guidance during production issues and critical builds.

Experience

Diploma, certificate, or equivalent technical qualification in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, or a related field.

Minimum 3 years of hands-on PCBA manufacturing experience covering SMT and through-hole/wave soldering processes.

Practical experience in solder printer,SPI, AOI reflow and/or wave solder profiling, process parameter control, tooling preparation, and equipment troubleshooting.

Working knowledge of

IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, ESD

requirements, and PCBA workmanship criteria.

Able to read work instructions, assembly drawings, BOMs, equipment manuals, and basic technical documentation.

Experience supporting NPI builds, selective soldering, X-ray inspection, PCBA rework, or external vendor coordination is preferred.
