ABOUT PACIFIC COAST BOTANICALS
Pacific Coast Botanicals LLC is a licensed Type 7 cannabis concentrate manufacturer operating in Rio Vista, California. We specialize in premium BHO concentrates — including live resin, badder, crumble, sugar, THCa diamonds, isolate, and HTE — produced on an ExtractionTek Solutions MeP40 closed-loop hydrocarbon extraction system. We are a safety-first, compliance-driven operation and we take both seriously.
THE ROLE
We are looking for an Extraction Technician to join our production team in a full-time capacity. This is a hands-on, technically demanding position in a Class 1 Division 1 (C1D1) environment. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining our closed-loop BHO extraction system, executing each run according to our SOPs, and maintaining complete Metrc traceability and California DCC batch record documentation on every run.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
▸ Operate the MeP40 BHO closed-loop extraction system from pre-run safety checks through full solvent recovery and end-of-run breakdown ▸ Complete the Pre-Extraction Checklist before every run — verifying gasket integrity, fitting torque, vacuum hold, thermal system setpoints, and gas detector function ▸ Load and unload biomass material columns; install and torque tri-clamp fittings to specification; pull and verify vacuum integrity ▸ Manage solvent introduction, soak timing, surge tank transfer, and full recovery cycles; monitor dual pressure scales and adjust valve control to process specifications ▸ Perform end-of-run depressurization, column breakdown, and post-run cleaning of the C1D1 area and extraction equipment ▸ Complete all required Batch Production Records (BPRs) in real time, including yield checkpoints at each process step ▸ Maintain Metrc traceability throughout production — recording Metrc UIDs, verifying package weights, and flagging any inventory discrepancy ▸ Identify and report deviations immediately; complete corrective action documentation per SOP ▸ Support material preparation (biomass intake, sock packing) and post-processing operations as needed ▸ Maintain C1D1 area cleanliness and equipment in accordance with PCB's daily, weekly, and periodic maintenance schedules
QUALIFICATIONS
Required ▸ 21 years of age or older (California cannabis employment requirement) ▸ Ability to pass a background check consistent with DCC licensing requirements ▸ Comfort working in a C1D1 classified area with pressurized, flammable hydrocarbon solvents (butane/propane) under PPE requirements ▸ Demonstrated ability to read, follow, and document against written SOPs with precision ▸ Strong mechanical aptitude — ability to confidently handle fittings, valves, gauges, compression connections, and tri-clamp assemblies ▸ Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious — this role requires zero shortcuts ▸ Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a temperature-controlled production environment Preferred — Cannabis Extraction Experience ▸ Prior hands-on experience operating a closed-loop BHO or hydrocarbon extraction system ▸ Familiarity with Metrc (or comparable cannabis track-and-trace systems) ▸ Knowledge of California DCC manufacturing regulations and batch record requirements ▸ Experience with post-processing of cannabis concentrates (vacuum oven purge, CRC, crystallization) Preferred — Equivalent Technical Background (In Lieu of Cannabis Experience) Candidates without direct cannabis extraction experience are encouraged to apply if they bring a strong foundation in a mechanical or industrial application field along with working knowledge of the following concepts: ▸ Fluid dynamics — behavior of gases and liquids under pressure, flow path management, vapor pressure, and phase transitions ▸ Physical and chemical properties of LPG solvents — flammability, LEL/UEL, vapor density, temperature-pressure relationships ▸ Mechanical systems — pressure vessels, valves, pumps, vacuum systems, thermal control, fittings, and seals ▸ Applicable fields include: HVAC/R, industrial gas handling, petroleum/chemical process operations, compressed gas systems, laboratory equipment operation, or similar
